Memphis Grizzlies Trade Target No. 2: Oklahoma City Thunder (6th Pick)

Trading up with the Oklahoma City Thunder seems like the ideal move here. The Thunder have six draft picks in total, so it may be easier to squeeze one out of them.

That said, they’re in the middle of a rebuild, so the Grizzlies would have to give them something that could help them along the way in the future. Thankfully, Memphis snagged another first-round pick for 2022, so they’ll have more options to work with here.

I don’t think the Grizzlies should go all-out to form a trade with the Thunder, but they are one of the teams that Memphis should be reaching out to.

OKC may also be willing to include Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, their emerging star, into a trade package, as they’re not ready to compete quite yet. SGA is doing nothing but decelerate their rebuild.

Look for Memphis to try and find a trade with the OKC Thunder, even if it doesn’t necessarily move them up in the draft. If Memphis can bring SGA to Beale Street in exchange for a couple of first-round picks and future assets, they could be an instant contender in this league.

That said, a trade with the Thunder does nothing to help send off Eric Bledsoe, so Memphis wouldn’t be solving their immediate issues with this one.
