Memphis Grizzlies: 7 former players who are NBA Champions
Mike Miller, a guard/forward out of Florida, got his NBA start with the Orlando Magic. Miller was the 5th overall pick in the 2000 NBA draft, standing out in the draft class well enough to be named the 2001 NBA Rookie of the Year.
The Memphis Grizzlies acquired the sharpshooting Miller during the 2002-03 season.
The Grizzlies were thrilled to pair him with other players on this list in Shane Battier and Jason Williams, forming a young core of players to make a serious run at the NBA playoffs.
Miller would play for the Grizzlies from 2002 through 2008, where he bridged the gap between the inaugural Memphis-era and the second generation of Grizzlies with Mike Conley and Rudy Gay.
Miler added to his already impressive resume, by winning the 2006 NBA Sixth Man of the Year award for his impressive play off the bench.
The Grizzlies traded Miller prior to the 2008-2009 season, in a trade with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Miller eventually made his way to the Miami Heat, playing with them from 2010 through the 2013 season. He won two championships with the LeBon James-led squad— the first taking place in 2012 and again in 2013.
Miller rejoined the Grizzlies for the 2013-2014 season, helping the team win an impressive 50 games.
During his career with the Grizzlies, Miller averaged 13.2 points per game, pulled down 4.5 rebounds per game, and shot 42% from three.
