The Memphis Grizzlies could look to pluck an established star off of a rebuilding team, which is what they do in this trade with Toronto

Pascal Siakam is a popular name mentioned in trade rumors and the Grizzlies would be wise to try and acquire the former 2016 first-round pick; however, the price may be more than what most Memphis fans would be willing to part with.

Last season, Siakam who appeared in only 56 games last season due to recovery from a left shoulder injury, averaged 21.4 points per game and pulled down 7.2 rebounds per game.

Siakam has a huge salary ($33 million) that would need to be matched to make any trade work. The Memphis Grizzlies could offer a combination of expiring contracts and young players to build an attractive offer for the Raptors, using the bloated salary of Steven Adams ($17 million) to help make the numbers work.

If a trade such as this were to come to fruition it could signal the fact that the Grizz may want to start making the three-point shot a priority. You might see a Memphis Grizzlies starting lineup of: Ja Morant, De’Anthony Melton, Dillon Brooks, Pascal Siakam, and Jaren Jackson, Jr.

After a Memphis Grizzlies trade involving Siakam, the entire team’s starting lineup would be capable of regularly knocking down three-pointers, which would create tons of space for Ja Morant to do what he does best: attack the basket.
