No. 4 Memphis Grizzlies fans are going to fall in love with newcomer Steven Adams

Steven Adams, best known to Memphis Grizzlies fans for taking a punch from Z-Bo during the 2014 NBA Playoffs against the Oklahoma City Thunder, is likely to be an important piece for Memphis this season.

The 6’11” New Zealander was all smiles for Media Day, joking around and opening up on a personal level to members of the media.

When a local reporter informed him he’s the old guy on the team at the ripe age of 28, Adams laughed, according to Geoff Calkins of The Daily Memphian. “It cuts me deep. Why did you say it, you bastard,” Adams quipped back.

He also joked that he’s wearing number four as an homage to former teammate Nick Collison of the Seattle Supersonics/Oklahoma City Thunder.

Adams also revealed that he and his Belgian Malinois, Loki, have been hanging out at Shelby Farms and his dog “bloody loved it,” according to Mark Giannotto of the Memphis Commercial Appeal.

No. 3 Some Memphis Grizzlies players debuted new looks

Dillon Brooks and Brandon Clarke each debuted some new looks for team photo shoots and media availability.

Brooks said he got his hair inspiration from Ja Morant and former Memphis Grizzlies player Justice Winslow.

He informed reporters that he’ll change up his look periodically throughout the season.

Brooks was more interested in talking about how excited he is for the new NBA rule change about players attempting to draw fouls in unnatural manners.

“It’s going to be a struggle for a lot of those guys,” he said.

Memphis Grizzlies forward Brandon Clarke said he took inspiration from his Jamaican heritage in his decision to braid his hair. He added in some color to be flashy and not make it boring.
