The Memphis Grizzlies may be open to doing a trade sometime soon before the deadline. Yes, they still have plenty of time, but that doesn’t mean it couldn’t happen at any moment.

If the Grizzlies continue their struggles like they are right now, we could very well see a trade happen soon. That goes for the team they would be trading with as well in the Indiana Pacers.

The Memphis Grizzlies and Indiana Pacers are in dire need of a few things, this trade would accomplish just that.

The Pacers are kind of like the Grizzlies in a few different ways, For starters, they are a small-market franchise with a fan base that is crazy for their team. Secondly, they both have great rosters with franchise players but are not doing well record-wise.

Beale Street Bears has already done a hypothetical trade before with the Indiana Pacers, in which the Grizzlies would find a way to acquire Caris LeVert. However, this one is a bit different. Both of these teams would be receiving something they desperately need.

Memphis Grizzlies and Indiana Pacers make a trade to help each other

The Indiana Pacers end of the deal may be the better part of this trade.

The Pacers are currently towards the bottom of the east, with a record of 6-10 after recently losing to the Pistons, and it is honestly sad to watch. As another small-market franchise struggles to have any success, Grizzlies fans can’t help but relate.

Neither of these teams has ever won a championship. In fact, the Grizzlies have never been in the Finals, and the Indiana Pacers have just one appearance in 2000, where the Lakers would beat them in six games.

With the squad they currently have, I’m sure they would like to compete sometime soon. Caris LeVert looks to be a promising scorer, Sabonis is already a top-five power forward in the league, and Malcolm Brogdon is Mr. consistency.

However, there is still something missing from this team. They desperately need bench scoring, and just depth all around. This trade helps them with that, without giving up too much.

Pacers get:

Steven Adams, C: $17.0M for 2 Years

The New Zealand native center is a guy who can come in and make an immediate impact on really any team. Steven Adams is one of the best offensive rebounders in the league and can do plenty of other things to help a team.

Tyus Jones, PG: $7.6M for 1 Year

Tyus Jones has been a solid backup point guard throughout his career thus far. This is a guy who can shoot and create for his teammates, and if you need him to, he can play off the ball.

De’Anthony Melton, PG: $8.8M for 3 Years

De’Anthony Melton has found his way into the starting lineup as of late with Dillon Brooks being out a bit. Melton has played the two guards very well so far this season and has shown great potential on the defensive side.

Grizzlies get:

Myles Turner, C: $17.5M for 3 Years

Getting Myles Turner would help the Grizzlies immensely. This would allow them to space the floor better with Turner being able to stretch the floor and protect the rim. Spacing the floor would then make Ja Morant’s special ability to get to the rim much easier.

Jeremy Lamb, G: $10.5M for 1 Year

This 6’5″ guard has shown already that he can score, making his value a bit better considering he does it off the bench. The Grizzlies could use another wing scorer on the bench to pair with Brandon Clark.

There will definitely be different opinions on this trade, and that is okay. These hypothetical scenarios are just for fun, but at the same time, they are trades that would or could be done.
