Ja Morant, Jaren Jackson Jr. highest-rated Memphis Grizzlies players

Ja Morant

2022 rank: 2B (No. 9-19)
2021: 3B (No. 20-36)
2020: 3B (No. 17-37)

Ja Morant, to the surprise of no one, is in the highest tier of any Memphis Grizzlies player currently on the roster.

He made a huge jump from his sophomore NBA season to his third season, racking up countless awards, and was named an NBA All-Star starter.

He’s in rarefied air in Tier 2, having just 10 other players join him and they’re all multi-time All-Stars. Jayson Tatum and Jimmy Butler stand alone as the only players in Tier 2A.

In Tier 2B, Morant is joined by Anthony Davis, James Harden, and Trae Young. He’s placed ahead of the players in Tier 2C: Chris Paul, Damian Lillard, Devin Booker, Paul George, and Rudy Gobert.

Morant was in the middle of Tier 3 last year and now he’s jumped up a whole tier. Can he make another massive jump in year four and enter the MVP conversation?

Jaren Jackson Jr.

2022 rank: 3C (No. 20-40)
2021: 5A (No. 80-125)
2020: 4B (No. 38-80)

Trip makes a huge leap from Tier 5 in 2021 to Tier 3 in 2022. The Athletic has pegged him as a top-40 player in the NBA and for good reasons. He’s an All-NBA Defensive player and if not for an offseason injury, would probably be on a lot of watchlists to make his first All-Star team in February.

Jackson is joined at the bottom of Tier 3 with the likes of Anthony Edwards, CJ McCollum, and Karl Anthony-Towns, to name a few.

Jaren Jackson Jr. is still only scratching the surface of his potential. He’s grown into one of the best paint defenders in the league at just 22 years old. His offensive game is surely not far behind.
