3. Memphis Grizzlies vs Golden State Warriors

As mentioned earlier, last season the Grizzlies found themselves suiting up for Christmas Day play, marking it as the first time in franchise history that they had been selected to be included on the highly regarded regular season showcase.

They ventured out to the Bay Area to play the role of visitor for the, then, reigning NBA Champion Golden State Warriors.

Despite the excitement and anticipation surrounding the matchup, especially considering they had just been kicked out the playoffs by Stephen Curry and company the season prior, unfortunately, the Dubs managed to get the best of the younger and far less experienced Grizzlies, as they handily coasted to the finish line with a 123-109 victory.

Now, as some may recall, the game was a rather unfortunate showing for everyone on Memphis’ roster not named Ja Morant, as he was personally responsible for more than half (57) of his team’s point total when combining both individual scoring and assists.

To be frank, it was an embarrassing outing, to say the least, for the Grizzlies and one they assuredly would love to get another crack at in hopes of claiming a bit of redemption along the way.

In what would likely be one of his first games back following an impending 25-game suspension to start the season, a Christmas Day rematch could have proven to be the perfect stage for Ja Morant to remind the league of exactly what they had been missing out on during the previous few months.
