Though his time with the Memphis Grizzlies proved to be astronomically short, 36-year-old Danny Green is still an intriguing player in the association with a solid amount of value attached to his name.

Still, nearly five months since suiting up for his final game of the 2023-24 season as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers, the veteran two-guard remains unsigned on the free agency market and in search of a new home.

Despite the fact that he may no longer be in his prime, as he gears up for his 15 season in the association Green still seems to feel that he can produce at a serviceable level, and, during an August 30 appearance on the No Chill Podcast, he rattled off a list of five organizations he feels could stand to benefit from his services.

Former Grizzlies wing Danny Green dishes on five desired destinations

"“It’s all based on chemistry. I thought [the Phoenix Suns were] a good team,” Green said. “They have a lot of star power but they’re all mid-range scoring shooters. I feel like they need some defense and some perimeter [scoring]. I thought Milwaukee was one. If the trade with [Damian Lillard] happens in Miami I thought Miami is one. I think [Philadelphia] could use some depth on the wing position — they have a lot of bigs…If the trade with James [Harden] happens, the Clippers might have to give some people. I thought the Clippers could be an option. So there’s a couple of spots that could make sense.”"

Green would continue on to note that his decision-making process will not be heavily influenced by financial incentives, as he admitted to host Gilbert Arenas that “it’s not about the money” but, rather, how “it’s all about just having the opportunity again to just hoop,” which, unfortunately, was not a luxury he received all that often during his short-lived stint with the Grizzlies.

Acquired during the 2022 offseason via trade with the Philadelphia 76ers, the wing played in a mere three outings with Memphis before being shipped out to the Houston Rockets on February 9.

Even with this unceremonious exit from the franchise, Green would show his high-class professionalism during his appearance on the No Chill Podcast by referring to the Grizzlies as an “A1” organization.

Professionalism is just one of several key qualities the veteran possesses, however, as he’s a three-time NBA Champion with four trips to the NBA Finals under his belt and has made a career for himself serving as a trusty 3&D role player while boasting per-game averages of 8.7 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.0 steals, and just shy of a block on 40.0 percent shooting from deep.
