Cam Boozer could end up facing strong competition from someone like Caleb Wilson, but Boozer is in the perfect situation to help lead the Grizzlies to wins early.
It will likely be an extremely close race throughout the entire season. However, the race could simply come down to who gets the highest usage of all the top rookies. The Grizzlies have promising pieces in Cedric Coward and Zach Edey, but Darryn Peterson and AJ Dybantsa will likely face more competition for usage with other established veteran players.
Cam Boozer already showed this summer the type of winning impact he can make on the offensive end, even if he had limited on-ball touches at times. The Grizzlies will put the ball in Boozer's hands early, and he should have plenty of opportunities to thrive as a playmaker and well-rounded scorer from day 1.
Plus, playing next to Zach Edey should take plenty of pressure off of Boozer as a rim protector and help the Grizzlies have one of the most promising frontcourt duos right away.
