There will be plenty of debate between the top 4 picks considering how great the 2026 NBA Draft could end up being. But so far, Cam Boozer has given the Grizzlies every reason to believe that they made the right pick at #3. Cam Boozer may not have the flashiest game, but one thing is clear: His skillset should absolutely translate to winning at the next level.

It is important to realize that Cam Boozer is the youngest player selected in the entire top 4. The upside of players such as AJ Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson, and Caleb Wilson is rather clear, but it is also looking foolish to immediately write off Cam Boozer's ceiling. Cam Boozer is the full package offensively, and it is exciting to think of what he can be as he continues evolving as a player.

Two things can be true. First, it's very exciting to see young players thrive in Summer League, and second, it is important to not overreact to the results. However, all the early signs are pointing to Cam Boozer making an enormous impact on winning in Memphis.

Boozer looks like everything the Grizzlies wanted from him

Despite many pre-draft debates about Cam Boozer's upside, Boozer is quickly showing the things that should make his offensive game translate immediately. It is clear that he possesses an impressive basketball IQ, and his playmaking is well above average for his position. Also, his defense has been a pleasant surprise, and it could be something that continues to improve.

When combining both Utah and Las Vegas Summer League, Boozer is averaging 19.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 3.8 assists in four games. He has also been very efficient, shooting 55.1% from the field and making 47% of his threes. The exciting part, however, is the fact that the numbers don't show how impactful he has been.

Boozer should arguably have way more assists, and good things always seem to happen to the team offensively when he has the ball in his hands. It is encouraging to see how much his strength is standing out at a young age, and his hands have also been extremely active on defense.

There are other good players on the Summer League roster, such as Cedric Coward, but it is hard to not be excited about what Boozer can do once he plays with guys such as Ty Jerome and Zach Edey. The Grizzlies are obviously in the early stages of a new rebuild, but Cam Boozer is showing all the signs that he is ready to make an immediate winning impact.

Now is the perfect time for Grizzlies fans to enjoy the ride and be excited about what Cam Boozer could eventually become in Memphis.
