The Grizzlies' schedule is finally out for the 2026-27 season. There is plenty to be excited about, and there will be multiple former players making their returns to Memphis. However, probably the most anticipated early takeaway of the Grizzlies' schedule drop is the return of Ja Morant to Memphis.
Ja Morant is set to return to Memphis as a member of the Trail Blazers in two back-to-back games in February on the 6th and 8th. The contest on February 6 will be televised on Prime Video and should be one of the biggest home games of the whole season for the Grizzlies.
It should be an exciting return for Ja Morant, as there will be plenty of Grizzlies fans ready to welcome back. Whether the trade ends up being the right move or not, Morant is still well loved by the fanbase and one of the most talented players to put on a Grizzlies jersey.

Ja Morant vs. Cam Boozer is a passing of the torch moment
Just like how Ja Morant got to lead the Next Gen Era back in 2019, Cam Boozer will have the chance to lead a new era of Grizzlies basketball. This matchup is a perfect passing of the torch moment considering Ja Morant was traded just weeks after the Grizzlies selected Cam Boozer.
Understandably, many fans are still upset about the Ja Morant trade given how much talent he still possesses. However, both matchups are a golden opportunity for the new core of Cam Boozer, Cedric Coward, and Zach Edey to establish themselves as one of the most promising cores in the Western Conference.
Plus, if the Grizzlies end up making a surprise push at a play-in or playoff spot, the Trail Blazers could be one of their direct competitors for seeding. A lot can happen between now and Ja Morant's return, but it would not be shocking if both matchups in Memphis ended up having high seeding stakes.
The Grizzlies also have a much-anticipated home opener against the Utah Jazz, which should feature Jaren Jackson Jr.'s first game in Memphis as a visitor, and an electric rookie matchup between Cam Boozer and Darryn Peterson.
There is plenty more to take away from the schedule of Cam Boozer's rookie season in Memphis, but Ja Morant's return will be one of the biggest occasions of the entire season.
