Even with some of the recent outrage surrounding the new draft lottery, Grizzlies fans still have plenty to look forward to as they have three top-32 picks in a strong 2026 NBA Draft. There were still some quality names that withdrew from the draft this week, such as Tounde Yessoufou and Billy Richmond III. However, a new Grizzlies' mock draft post-NCAA withdrawal deadline is a home run for the team.
Christopher Kline of FanSided has continued his series of mock drafts, and Grizzlies fans will be happy with the outcome of his latest projections. Let's dive into the selections he made for the Grizzlies.
3. Cam Boozer, F, Duke
Kline's mock draft starts off strong as the Grizzlies land their dream target in Cam Boozer at #3. It's no secret how productive Boozer was as a freshman at Duke, and it can easily be argued that his potential is being downplayed by some. AJ Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson, and Caleb Wilson all have great upside; however, Boozer is the youngest of the top 4 prospects and has great upside as well.
Boozer will have to overcome some concerns about his defensive and vertical pop, but his ability as a processor and scorer in multiple play types should immediately translate. It also helps that he would get to play next to a great rim-protecting center in Zach Edey, which should help to mitigate some of Boozer's weaknesses.
Listed at 6 foot 9 and 250 pounds, Boozer brings physicality and tenacious rebounding, which should help the Grizzlies win the possession battle at a much higher clip alongside Zach Edey and Cedric Coward. Any of the top 4 prospects would help the Grizzlies significantly, but Boozer is likely the most logical fit.
16. Labaron Philon Jr., G, Alabama
Even though the Grizzlies passed on other quality options such as Dailyn Swain and Christian Anderson Jr., there is plenty to like about Labaron Philon Jr. ending up in Memphis. It can just as easily be argued that the Grizzlies do not need to draft a guard this summer. There is also a strong chance the Grizzlies attempt to move up from the #16 pick on draft night.
However, if the Grizzlies move Ja Morant and potentially more names, Philon Jr. could make plenty of sense at #16. Listed at 6 foot 3 and 176 pounds, there are concerns about Philon Jr.'s size, but he possesses a 6 foot 6 wingspan and should likely get stronger in the NBA. Philon Jr. made a significant shooting leap as a sophomore this past season and is one of the better scoring guards in the draft.
Regardless of the positions the Grizzlies draft at, they will need more reliable shot creation, and Philon Jr. fits that to perfection.
32. Tarris Reed Jr., C, UConn
Now this pick may not happen since there is a decent chance that Tarris Reed Jr. sneaks into the late first round. However, if Reed Jr. ends up making it to #32, the Grizzlies should not hesitate to select him at all. Adding Boozer and Reed Jr., who both faced off against each other in an epic Elite 8 battle, would be quite a significant upgrade to a Grizzlies frontcourt badly needing more options.
Listed at 6 foot 11 and 265 pounds, Tarris Reed Jr. would be great depth behind Zach Edey given his fit as a traditional big. Reed Jr. is a strong rebounder and would bring quality post scoring that the Grizzlies need. Reed Jr. will have to get better from the free throw line and with avoiding foul trouble, but his breakthrough performances at the NCAA Tournament can easily yield NBA success.
