No. 10: Mario Chalmers’ Game winner Against the Pistons (Jan. 13, 2016)

Do you remember in Return of the Jedi when Darth Vader finally became Anakin Skywalker once more. The main villain had finally found his redemption and became a hero.

Against the Pistons, Mario Chalmers had his Darth Vader moment.

It’s no secret that before coming to Memphis, Mario Chalmers wasn’t considered to be, ahem, well-liked. Chalmers can lead the Grizzlies to the title and win Finals MVP next year, and I’ll still never be able to fully forgive him for the 2008 National Title game.

Despite initial resentment, Mario Chalmers earned the respect of the people of Memphis. He gave his all every time he was on the court, and he was arguably the best back-up point guard the Grizzlies have ever had. However, it was this moment that he truly carved himself a place in the hearts of fans of the Grizzlies.

Let’s just appreciate that Chalmers hit once of the most clutch shots in history over Derrick Rose, and then he hit a game winner for the Memphis Grizzlies from almost the exact same spot.

After all, you can’t teach championship DNA.
