Starting their careers the same year, it is easy to see who has prevailed as a top center when comparing both McGee and Gasol. Both may be great players, but Gasol’s advantage as a Memphis Franchise player allows him to lead a team.

Marc Gasols Career Stats Below:

Javale McGee’s Career Stats Below:

Per Game Table
Season FG% 3P% 2P% FT% TRB AST STL BLK TOV PTS

In their career’s, Marc Gasol has lead McGee by 10 points on average. Though Javale McGee has a higher FG% and 3P%, Gasol still leads in points due to his versatility on the court and aggressive playing style. McGee will be a powerful player to go up against on offense, which can be seen from his percentages, but when it comes to him playing defense, the Grizzlies offense will be able to do what they do best. Grind out points.

This past season, Gasol’s 3 point percentages also rose to his position on the team without Michael Conley. Therefore, Gasol has more range from any area on the court and will be able to produce higher numbers than Javale McGee.

Though McGee has the size advantage (not by much) Gasol is just a much better overall player on the court than McGee on both ends of the floor, and the Grizzlies will take that matchup all night.
