Welcome Back!

One of the first signs of a new season is the arrival of players back into the city they represent within the association. The luxurious vacations are over. The individual workouts being conducted over the course of the summer will now transition into team workouts prior to the start of training camp.

One item that you love to see is that Dillon Brooks — one of the Memphis Grizzlies’ very few bright spots from last season — is one of the first players to return to the city. He is fully focused. Brooks, as a second round pick in 2017, became a major steal for Memphis, playing in all 82 regular season contests. For him to make another leap to greatness, his early focus is a key to success.

This offseason, Dillon Brooks put in a lot of work versus high-quality talent for the Canadian national team. This was a far greater opportunity than playing in his second NBA Summer League. This is another key toward enabling Brooks to take the jump from good to great.

In already being back in town, you can see that he continues to put in work off the hardwood and behind the scenes. Dillon has been assisting the Memphis Grizzlies with their community work, even in areas outside of the 901, such as Nashville, Tennessee. He was eager to get back to his job, and not just to shoot hoops, but to bring Grizz Nation together. Talk about a likable young athlete.

Dillon Brooks is not the only young member of the Grizzlies to show excitement, determination, and focus prior to the start of the new season. The team’s fourth overall pick of the 2018 NBA DraftJaren Jackson Jr. — recently displayed his mindset on social media.

“Locked in” is all you need to know about the 19-year-old big man. He is ready to show that not only is he potentially going to be the next face of the Memphis Grizzlies franchise, but he will showcase reason for him to have been top overall pick. Even as the fourth pick, there remains a chance of being the steal of the Draft.
