Key Players

Marc Gasol

Marc Gasol had another really good performance, especially on the offensive end. When the Memphis Grizzlies’ offense was struggling, he made a couple big plays to get them out of their funk.

Gasol scored 19 points on 7/10 shooting. Against teams with limited size like Washington had on Tuesday, he has to be able to produce in a big way as he did.

He also had six assists and five rebounds. Oh, and you cannot forget about his five steals. He did a little bit of everything in this game and it is a big reason the Grizzlies came out on top.

Garrett Temple

Garrett Temple had another really good performance shooting the ball. He is off to a hot start from three-point range and that continued versus Washington.

Temple put up 20 points, including shooting 4/7 from downtown. He did only shoot 5/13 from the field overall, though, which leaves him a bad one-for-six from inside the arc.

He also had a good impact on the boards with his seven rebounds. His play has been a nice surprise this season and the Grizzlies need him to keep playing at a high level as the current starting shooting guard.

More from Beale Street Bears

Kyle Anderson

Kyle Anderson has struggled to start the season, but despite scoring just five points, he had a really good performance on Tuesday. He had three assists as well, but even that does not make you think he made much of an impact on the offensive side of the ball.

He also pitched in his 11 rebounds, which is huge for a Grizzlies team that has been terrible in that department. Those 11 boards were easily enough to lead the team.

Anderson did the little things to help this team win and that is what they will need from him going forward. Scoring is not his game and Memphis does not need him to light up the scoreboard.

Shelvin Mack

Shelvin Mack has played well to start the season and he continued that tonight. He finished with 14 points and eight assists.

His ability to run the offense is big for this team and Mike Conley should benefit greatly from this. Conley has been struggling to hit shots, and if he can play off-ball more, that should help him get going.

Mack also hit a couple big three-pointers in the second half, which helped extend the lead. He is not going to be one of the main scorers for this team, but it is good to know he can step up and hit shots when needed, especially within the Memphis Grizzlies’ second unit.
