Flawless Passing

A big advantage Mike Conley had over the field in the Skills Challenge is the passing portions of the obstacle course. He currently boasts a 3.4 assist-to-turnover ratio, which is best among the eight-player lineup for the Saturday event.

What this shows is that Conley is exceptionally accurate with his passes. You could say that the Skills Challenge proposes a more difficult challenge to make good passes than what is presented in an NBA game because the competitor is not passing to another player. It has to be perfect. No. 11 ensured that it was just that.

As fans of the Memphis Grizzlies saw on Saturday, Mike excelled with this aspect. Along with his speed, this is one area that gave him a major boost over the opposition, which happened to be Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics.

Conley has 10 years more experience than Tatum, and this finer detail of the game greatly showed the importance of experience. Youthfulness does not always succeed in all aspects of NBA All-Star Weekend, and the only thing Jayson Tatum had on his side was luck, unfortunately for Mike.
