Indiana Pacers

The Indiana Pacers are a team that was without their star player Victor Oladipo in the playoffs so the result may have been different, but they didn’t have anybody at the end of games they could rely on. They had a good gameplan and were competitive in games, but they just weren’t able to finish them off with wins.

They have a big summer ahead of them as the majority of the roster is going to be free agents this summer. The only players from their playoff rotation that will be back with the team next season are Myles Turner and Domantas Sabonis. Doug McDermott and Aaron Holiday played some, but they didn’t play a huge role.

There’s a good chance they bring back some of the other key players such as Bojan Bogdanovic and Thaddeus Young, but they’re in a spot where they can go star hunting this offseason. They haven’t been discussed as a top landing spot for free agents, but don’t be surprised if they show interest in a guy like Kemba Walker.

The Pacers were interested in a potential deal prior to the trade deadline, but after Oladipo got hurt they felt it was no longer in their best interest to do so. It’s possible that they could revisit a deal this summer depending what goes down in free agency.

With their point guards Cory Joseph and Darren Collison heading towards free agency, they have decisions to make with them. They currently have Holiday on the roster and if they feel he’s the point guard of the future they will have to decide whether they think he’s ready to take over or not.

With the lack of assets on their roster, there’s a good chance that a deal for Conley would have to include Holiday which is why a deal would be tough to get done. If they’re willing to offer two first-round picks then they can likely keep Holiday, but prior to the deadline, it seemed as if they were unwilling to do either so they’ll have to up their offer to get close to a deal.
