3.  Jaren Jackson Jr. set to return

The Grizzlies announced today on their Youtube page that star forward Jaren Jackson Jr. is set to return to play tonight against the Minnesota Timbewolves.

The Grizzlies fans and organization alike held their bated breath as Jackson Jr. went down with a knee injury in a game against the Phoenix Suns on Saturday, Nov. 2. While there were early concerns over his health, the test results came back incredibly positive, and it looked like Jackson had dodged a major injury.

Memphis had Jackson Jr. sit in their last game against the Houston Rockets, but that looked to be more of a precautionary measure than an indication of the severity of his injury. Now, he’s set to return, and he’ll have his hands full, as Minnesota has a stacked frontcourt tandem in Robert Covington and Karl-Anthony Towns.

Chances are the JJJ will be looking at fairly limited minutes, especially as he’s going up against some fairly physical Wolves big men. Which, if the Grizzlies are going to make sure to preserve their star long term, is probably the best idea.
