2. The Injuries

Aside from missing what would be one of the marquee matchups of the season, this game is also at risk for missing a lot of key players for both teams.

For the Grizzlies, as well as missing Grayson Allen and Bruno Cabocolo, Memphis could also be missing Jonas Valanciunas with right knee soreness. As of writing this, he’s listed as questionable.

The Mavericks will also be without Dwight Powell, and could be missing Seth Curry and JJ Barea. Curry is with a knee injury, and Barea has an ankle injury. Both are questionable.

All of these injuries could greatly affect either team’s chances in this game. For the Grizzlies, going into this game without a big body like Jonas Valanciunas would make for a difficult matchup against Kristaps Porzingas, who is likely to see a majority of the touches when he is on the court.

For Dallas, the Mavericks guard rotation would struggle without Seth Curry and JJ Barea in the lineup. If they’re gone, the starters would most likely be Delon Wright and Jalen Brunson, who would struggle against Memphis’ Morant, Dillon Brooks, and Jones.
