Memphis Grizzlies 6th man: Possible, but less likely options

While the three aforementioned players definitely have the best chance to crack the starting lineup, there are a handful of guys beyond that list who have the ability to do so themselves.

The first is Dillon Brooks, a guy who has been a rock for this team thus far in 2021. He has been a consistent piece of a team that has had a ton of moving parts and knows the system better than anybody. He’s a strong scorer, and could keep this team moving on offense when the stars aren’t in the game. He’s definitely a strong option, but might stay in the starting lineup when Jackson returns.

Tyus Jones is another possible 6th man. He may not have been a popular candidate at the beginning of the year, but he has shown that he can take over the game when he needs to. He stepped up big against the mighty Los Angeles Clippers and won’t be looking to slow down.

The last player I’ll mention here is De’Anthony Melton, or “Mr. Do Something.” He earned his nickname by, well… doing something. He brings more energy to the court than any other guy on this team and could keep Taylor Jenkins’ squad going in the absence of Ja Morant. He’s not a superstar, but he had 6th man written all over him.

Next. The Memphis Grizzlies need to trade a big man. dark

There isn’t a doubt in anybody’s mind that this team has a strong 6th man on the roster, it’s just a matter of who steps up.
