Memphis Grizzlies’ all-time team, power forward: Jaren Jackson Jr.

You probably expected to see somebody like Pau or Marc Gasol at this position. That being said, I’m not building a team that would have been great in the 2000s, I’m building a team that would be great right now.

Jaren Jackson Jr. was the 4th overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft for a reason. His length, athleticism, and shooting ability makes him the perfect prototype for an NBA star in the modern league. Pair him with a powerful big man like Z-Bo, and this Michigan State duo would torch anybody you put in front of them.

His length would make up for the lack of heigh at the center position, as he could switch onto any defenders that are too large for Randolph to cover. That being said, you’d be hard-pressed to find anybody who could penetrate the defense on this team.

Picking Jackson for this spot would be a little bit of a leap, but the potential is too much to pass up. We’ll get a better look at him when he returns from injury, but for now, he is the starting power forward for this team.
