Memphis Grizzlies prospect No. 1: Matthew Hurt, Duke Blue Devils

Matthew Hurt may not be the first player that comes to mind when you’re looking for future Memphis Grizzlies, but everybody should keep an eye on this guy during the NCAA Tournament.

Being a Duke Blue Devil, his games will get priority TV exposure, so he’ll be an easy player to key in on.

His play style is perfect for the Grizzlies, a team that lacks depth down low and hasn’t been shooting the ball particularly well. He’s a player who will likely slip past the first round, but could be a strong second-round selection.

Hurt is a 43.5% 3-point shooter at the time of this post and has been a key player for Duke this year. He’s a strong passer and could bring a unique play style to a Grizzlies front court that is filled with traditional big men.

The only issue here is that his Duke Blue Devils are at risk of missing the NCAA Tournament for the first time in a quarter-century.
