Memphis Grizzlies prospect No. 3: Aaron Henry, Michigan State Spartans

Aaron Henry is a guy who was considering entering the draft a year ago, but decided to return to college to pad his resume for another year. This has paid dividends for the young forward, as he has had one of the best years in the history of Michigan State, a school that has had some really strong players.

Henry is a strong all around player, but lacks the 3-point shot that the last couple of prospects have had. He’s good at just about everything else though, with really strong defensive abilities and excellent inside scoring.

He’s also smaller than the other guys at 6’6″, but he’s capable of guarding players much larger than him. His defensive upside is huge, even if he isn’t ready on day 1. Henry is a gritty player who would fit in with the Grizzlies current culture.

Most importantly though, he plays with heart. His team was basically out of the tournament, but he has put them on his back and guided them to a likely appearance in 2021.

The Grizzlies have also had great luck with players from Michigan State with Jaren Jackson Jr. and Xavier Tillman on the roster. Could Aaron Henry be the next Spartan wearing a Grizzlies uniform?
