Memphis Grizzlies should at least consider trading Dillon Brooks

I do not want to see the Grizzlies trade Dillon Brooks, but this is a move that would make sense in the long run. Brooks has proven himself to be an extremely strong scorer in this league and his value will likely only going to decrease in the coming years.

With the emergence of De’Anthony Melton and Desmond Bane, the already-crowded backcourt has even less space than it already did. Grayson Allen is still receiving meaningful minutes, making this logjam even more backed up.

Brooks is only 25-years old and is still a really strong player for this team, but somebody in this room has to go.

Bane has been huge for 3-point shooting, an area where this team struggles, so his contributions may be extremely meaningful going forward. Taylor Jenkins just seems to like Grayson Allen, so it doesn’t look like he’s going anywhere.

Brooks, on the other hand, does everything right. He just can’t shoot the ball as well as Bane and Allen. In the modern NBA, your team has to be able to shoot a high percentage from the 3-point line or else they simply cannot succeed.

I know my reasoning is weak, but the Grizzlies have to at least consider a Dillon Brooks trade. He’s not the only shooting guard at risk though.
