Who is in the Memphis Grizzlies’ shooting guard rotation?

The shooting guard spot is a little bit harder to pin down for the Grizzlies. There are a handful of players on this team who rotate between the two and the three, so for now, we’ll stick to the guys who have gotten starts at the shooting guard position.

As of this week, Grayson Allen has been the team’s starting shooting guard. While he doesn’t have as high of a ceiling as rookie Desmond Bane, he has experience that can’t be undervalued at this stage of the season.

Bane recently went through a rough stretch for a few games while Allen was recovering from a concussion, but the former TCU Horned Frog has shown that he can give this team big contributions right away.

We’ve seen this in his 10 starts so far this season on 22.4 minutes per game. He may not have a fully carved-out game, but he is a lethal 3-point shooter and one of the best rookies in his class, despite being picked with the final pick of the first round.

Beyond these guys, we see De’Anthony Melton earning just under 20 minutes per game and making a big impact on the floor. He’s been another guy on this team who has been shooting lights-out and brings a ton of energy off of the bench.

After Melton, there are no other guys who are still playing. The Grizzlies have John Konchar and Sean McDermott deep on the bench, but likely won’t play them outside of garbage time for the remainder of the year.
