Memphis Grizzlies C Xavier Tillman is the next piece of the puzzle

Both Xavier and Jaren are excellent big men. Jaren has already had some time in the NBA to showcase his talent. He’s clearly good enough to become even greater and more impactful than Randolph was.

Before he hurt his knee, JJJ was establishing himself as Memphis’ star and a top NBA player. The same should be expected upon his return. He’ll be back like he never left.

Xavier is brand new to the league and has his work cut out for him, but he has come out this season and shown that he can play. He’s averaging 6.6 points and 4 rebounds in 18.3 minutes per game, which is a decent start and good experience for him to build off of and continue to learn from.

Also, based on his work ethic, physical attributes, and what I personally saw from him while watching him play at State, I’d say his ceiling is pretty high.

During Michigan State games, my family group chat sees a lot of action. One of my all-time favorite recurring moments in the chat is my uncle Craig (who, by the way, coached against Xavier a handful of times) saying “Tillman doing his job!” whenever X had a great play.

Tillman is going to be a baller. He has all of the potential and drive to be a star.

I could very well see Xavier Tillman and Jaren Jackson Jr. staying in Memphis together, possibly long enough for fans to see them both, along with Ja and the rest of the crew, bring the same success to the Grizzlies as Zach Randolph did. Maybe even more.
