Memphis Grizzlies Trade Target No. 1: Golden State Warriors (7th Pick)

The Golden State Warriors seem like the most obvious trade candidate for the Memphis Grizzlies, as they’re not a team that can do much with their 7th overall pick. With an aging core in Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green, they have to put together a winning roster immediately.

Generally speaking, they’re thought of as having a two-year window to work with right now. At the 7th pick, they won’t likely find anybody who can step into a starring role and elevate their team quickly enough.

That said, is the 7th pick high enough for the Memphis Grizzlies? The Warriors won’t be looking for Eric Gordon or Kyle Anderson — they’ll want a star that can bring them back to the promised land. That said, it’ll be worth reaching out to see if these teams can come to an agreement.

Memphis probably won’t want to give up Jaren Jackson Jr., a huge part of their future, so it’ll be interesting to see what kind of trades can be created here. In all likelihood, a big trade would have to happen with GSW.

That said, Memphis is said to have a lot of interest in Franz Wagner, who is thought of as a player who could be picked as early as the 7th pick. If the Grizzlies want Wagner, this is where they’re going to have to land.
