The Memphis Grizzlies would have to break the bank to land Ben Simmons in this scenario.

This scenario gives the Philadelphia 76ers the best of both worlds. They get immediate, win-now help in the form of Dillon Brooks and Kyle Anderson.

They would also receive a highly-touted second-year player in Desmond Bane from the Memphis Grizzlies.

The 76ers would also receive multiple first-round draft picks which could help them in future trade scenarios or to get younger down the road.

You could imagine a starting line-up for Philadelphia to be:

  • Tyrese Maxey, Dillon Brooks, Kyle Anderson, Tobias Harris, and Joel Embiid

That might be enough to get you to the NBA Finals. It’s a small-ball lineup with all five players able to knock down three-pointers.

The Grizzlies, on the other hand, could possibly have a lineup of:

  • Ja Morant, Ben Simmons, Ziaire Williams, Jaren Jackson, Jr. and Steven Adams

That’s a lot of length and athleticism on the court for the Memphis Grizzlies. A tough, defensive-minded team that would give opposing teams a lot of problems.

But, to get there, the team would have to sacrifice the present and the future of the team to get Simmons in a Grizzlies jersey.
