The Memphis Grizzlies could explore a three-team trade, exchanging a flurry of role players that would likely satisfy the needs of each team

This trade would allow the Memphis Grizzlies to bring home Cameron Payne, who attended Lausanne Collegiate School in Memphis and went on to become a Murray State Racer. There’s a certain someone on the Memphis Grizzlies who would probably enjoy having a fellow Murray State alum on the team — Ja Morant.

Payne is under contract for three years at an affordable $6.5 million. Vernon Carey, Jr., just 20 years old, also has a three-year contract at $1.5 million. Carey, Jr. would be a suitable backup for Steven Adams and could push Xavier Tillman, Sr. for minutes as the primary backup center.

In this trade, the Charlotte Hornets would receive two playoff-tested players that will help the young, inexperienced Hornets make a run at the playoffs. Crowder could set the tone defensively for the LaMelo Ball-led squad. The squad would be losing Plumlee to the Phoenix Suns, but they currently have an overabundance of forwards and centers.

The Suns would be getting even deeper in making this trade. The Suns would be acquiring Tyus Jones to backup the incomparable Chris Paul. Paul, 36, will need to manage his minutes and maybe even participate in a few “load management” nights to preserve his body for another deep playoff run. In a reloaded Western Conference, the Suns could entrust Jones to handle point guard responsibilities and take care of the ball.

Additionally, the Suns would be getting Mason Plumlee, who would be able to plug in and take the minutes that Dario Saric would otherwise be getting. Saric is out indefinitely after suffering a severe injury during the playoffs that will put him out of commission indefinitely, according to Sports Illustrated. The 31-year-old big man nearly averages a double-double (10.4 ppg, 9.3 rpg per game) and would be able to take some pressure off Deandre Ayton.
