1. SF Dillon Brooks

You can say all you want about the “culture” that Dillon Brooks brings to the Grizzlies, but we sure wish he could have been traded at some point this season. However, due to how awful he was, the Grizzlies likely couldn’t trade him, especially with the reported price Brooks was asking for on his potential extension.

Brooks was never a great player offensively, but this season may have been his worst. Not only did his points per game drop by nearly four, but he saw a pretty big drop in efficiency as well. While he is still a great point-of-attack defender, it’s not nearly enough to make up for his dirty antics, over-the-top trash talk, and retched offense.

Through 73 games this season, Brooks averaged 14.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game while shooting 39.6% from the field and 32.6% from beyond the arc on 6.0 attempts. Now, the Grizzlies can’t trade him, as Brooks is officially a free agent and according to Shams, “will not be brought back under any circumstances.”

It would have been nice to see Brooks have been traded at the deadline, however, as we previously mentioned, it’s likely that no team wanted to deal with his antics considering how poor of an offensive talent he is. Maybe Brooks can prove us wrong and turn it around next season, but for now, it’s not looking too hot.
