Memphis Grizzlies’ target No. 2 – Torrey Craig

Torrey Craig’s journey to the NBA has been far from normal. After going undrafted in 2014, Craig went overseas for several years before getting his shot in the NBA, where he has become a solid rotational player. Craig is an example of determination and perseverance, and Memphis could use a veteran like that in their rather young locker room right now.

In addition to being a good locker room presence, Craig can undeniably produce on the court too. He’s never been much of an offensive threat, but he is coming off his most productive season in the NBA, having averaged 7.4 points while shooting 39.5 percent from three, both career highs. Defensively, Craig is a savvy 6-foot-7 wing who can take on matchups against top scorers on the opposing team. In short, he’s a quality 3-and-D wing, and the Grizzlies should be interested.

Despite his productive season, Craig will likely not command a lot on the free agent market. If he does not return to the Phoenix Suns, the Grizzlies would be a fitting landing spot. Craig is not the flashiest name, but it’s no secret that the young Grizzlies could use another veteran or two in the locker room to provide some leadership moving forward while also playing well on the court.
