Kent Bazemore (High-End Role Player/Quality Starter)

Kent Bazemore is the first player to come to mind when I think of the closest size and skill comparison to Wayne Selden.

Bazemore is a quality starter for the Atlanta Hawks, averaging 13 points on 39.3 percent from deep, four rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.6 steals. I like the way these guys play defense and rebound pretty good for wing players. Both are athletic 6’5″ guards, even though Wayne is a tad bit bigger at 230 pounds to Kent’s 201 pounds.

Both can be streaky shooters but are at their best when they attack the rim. Kent can either be a spark plug off the bench or your 3-and-D starting 2-guard. It’s easy to see Wayne peaking as a similar player. But like the Grizzlies do with most of our young talent, they’ll give up on him while he works out his inconsistencies and watch him blossom elsewhere. *Face palm emoji* — Dee Davis (@lucky.lefty_)
